Leela

Leela, played by Louise Jameson , was a leather bikini costumed warrior from a tribe of humans left on an alien world that slowly regressed back to savagery. Although uneducated and ignorant of science and technology, Leela is bright and brave with an inquisitive nature. Leela is a creature of instinct and can often tell if danger is nearby, she is also very familiar with death and weapons including knives, crossbows and deadly darts called Janis thorns. Leela travelled with Tom Baker's Doctor.

DVDs that feature Leela with Tom Baker's Doctor are:

The Time Lord, with the help of a girl called Leela, is about to find out.

THE ROBOTS OF DEATH

The Doctor and Leela inevitably become embroiled in events, which soon turn into a sci-fi murder-mystery: imagine Isaac Asimov crossed with Agatha Christie in a Frank Herbert Dune-like setting. Add an undercover robot sent by "the company" and the claustrophobic, not to say deadly setting of the mining ship and there is a fascinating foreshadowing of Alien, too

THE TALONS OF WENG-CHIANG

The inimitable Doctor and his assistant Leela are confronted by sinister and seemingly inexplicable occurrences in this gripping thriller set in the shadowy depths of 19th century London. With the help of Professor Litefoot, the Doctor investigates the gruesome murder of a cabbie and the mysterious disappearances of young girls. Whilst being chased by giant rats and forced to pit his wits against an evil doll and a merciless illusionist,

THE INVISIBLE ENEMY

Starring Tom Baker, The Invisible Enemy is a four-part story featuring the screen debut of K9, the robot canine (This box set also features the spin-off K9 and company). When The Doctor answers a distress call from a shuttle crew who have been infected with an intelligent virus, he too becomes contaminated. The only solution is to create clones of The Doctor and his companion Leela to enter his body and fight the virus.

IMAGE OF THE FENDAHL

THE SUN MAKERS

The TARDIS arrives in the future on the planet Pluto where there are now six suns, a breathable atmosphere and a large industrial community. The Company controls the planet and exploits the workers, pays them a pittance and then taxes them on everything imaginable. The Doctor and Leela join forces with an underground band of rebels led by a man named Mandrel…

UNDERWORLD

In the four-parter 'Underworld', the TARDIS lands the Doctor (Tom Baker) in a Minyan spaceship that is on a quest to find the Minyan race banks stored in a missing ship known as the P7E. They eventually find what they are looking for in a cave system at the centre of a newly-formed planet. But the P7E's computer has ideas of its own, and doesn't look kindly upon its new visitors.

THE INVASION OF TIME

A story plucked from the Tom Baker era of Doctor Who, The Invasion Of Time sees the Doctor heading back to Gallifrey, with Leela in tow (for the last time). His intention is to claim the presidency of the Time Lords, but some erratic behaviour (for a change!) sets a few alarm bells off. And when the Sontarans and Vardans appear on the scene, all hell seems set to break loose.
