14 September 2025 - Laurel and Hardy

I've been spending some very enjoyable time watching that classic duo Laurel and Hardy. I cannot imagine a closer comedy duo than these two lovely gentlemen. What do you think?

Thinking about the films, they had amazing shorts, such as the famous piano up the flight of steps to awesome films like the one set with the foreign legion.

Their comic genius, and particularly timing, were so far ahead of their time. Did you know they invented the look to camera, where one of them, usually Hardy, looks straight into the camera as if appealing to the very audience.

Did you know that although Laurel acted as the dumb one, he was actually the brains behind the team and wrote and directed some of their work. Even after Hardy died, Laurel continued to write comedies, even though he was retired.

Although these shorts and films are very old, they are absolute classics and held my attention and made me wanting more.
