1 September 2026 - New School Term

Summer holidays are over and today is the first day of school. Scenes like the above will be playing out all across the country. For me, the main indication that all the roads have become really busy will all the mums (it's mostly mums) taking or collecting their little darlings in their huge SUVs that never go off road.

Thinking about it. I guess people buy these huge SUVs for the higher ground clearance and softer suspension. The UK is full of potholes, speed bumps, and uneven rural roads, then again, it could just be because of the height.

I know if I bought one, it would not fit into my garage, which explains why everyone leaves their SUVs out on the driveway!
